Because, He is GOD!

"If we don't trust Him, then what the heck are we here for?"

Wow! God spoke so much to me. I am going to attempt to summarize some of it here...

It seems to me that the basis of our walk as Christians, the starting point of discipleship, must begin with a simple question.

What is the true character of God? Who do you know God to be?

If we can't answer this... then our world, our calling, our lives... will never make sense. Why did we see starving children in Africa? Why are wives beaten under the religion of Islam? Why did God kill the first born sons of Egypt? Why does my friend suffer from depression? Why does my father have diabetes?

I don't know... these question are not for me to answer perhaps.

But I know this, God is God. What does that mean to you?

Finally, to me, it means He is Love, I can trust Him, His ways are above mine... Why do all these things happen? I don't know. I do know, He uses ALL things for the good of those that love Him!

Do you love Him?

I am reminded of Joshua 7... go and read it, it will make you think! I hope! How often are we crying out to God, blaming Him even for the mess the world is in... God do this and do that we pray! I wonder, how much of the state of the world is simply the result of our disobedience! How often is God saying, hey kids, you know the rules of the game, you broke them, you keep breaking them, why are you crying out to me, get up my child, go make right what is wrong, turn you heart back to me. Seek Me and you WILL find me... but here is the key to the line... seek me and you will find me, WHEN you seek me with ALL of your heart!

I love hearing people say, I have said it myself, "I have a problem with this scripture..." think about it. WHAT??? He is God. It is not up to me to analyze HIs word and then decide if I agree with God or not... HE IS GOD!!!

This is His Ball Game, He made the rules, He invited us to play... and here is the cool thing for me, only he knows the score, who is on the winning team and who is on the losing team! Only HE gets to send players to the sin bin (thats the penalty box for all you non rugby fans)...

Why did I have to leave that child with an abusive family, why did the women go home to a drunk husband, why are there children hungry and naked in the street... I dont know the answers, except the only answer that matters, He is God, and I trust Him, His ways are above mine, they are His children He loves them, He loves me, He loves you... and the greatest thing I understand and believe... that the game is NOT OVER YET... we are still here, Christ has not yet come, judgement day is not here this moment....

Are you still reading, whewwww, ok good, yes, judegement day is not here yet, not this moment... but it is coming.

I finally think I have a better understanding of what this season of my life is now about... Knowing the character of God, unmistakably, unshakibly, unconditionally... knowing God, trusting Him, loving Him. It is NOT about learning to be a better leader, it is not about teams or organizations... this is between me and God. Sitting at His feet, lying face down in His throne room... me and God.

Last night I feel God told me, Kelly... I need you to know me, to trust me, before I can send you any further. I feel that soon God is going to raise the bar on my life, call me to a new level of obedience and surrender. But that it wont be painful it wont be a struggle of flesh, it will be a sweet sweet surrender, because I know Him, I love Him, and I will truly give my life to Him. He has placed Ephesians 3:17-19 on my life... The love of Chrsit that SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE!

It does not have to make sense, HE IS GOD!!!

An Update from Africa

Where do I even begin?

I just returned from Tanzania, Africa!!! We set off on our journey from South Africa and DROVE 4x4's for 6 days through 4 countries across Africa. I saw wild elephants, and giraffes, and crazy baboons in the wild!!! We had amazing fellowship along the way and used the many hours in the car to interceed for the countries we traveled through. We met up in Arusha, Tanzania just in time to spend a few days with the local church there and then set off to the island of Zanzibar! It is an amazing island! So beautiful, and the people are perhaps the most friendly on earth. Kimmy and I met two sisters in Christ our age, they welcomed us into their home, cooked for us, prayed with us... I can't explain the joy we had together. It is amazing to know that anywhere in the world we are, we truly have family in Christ!

We got down and dirty helping to build a new church in a village... with hand tools and mud bricks! At night we showed the Jesus Film, many many people came out into the streets to watch... you had to be there to understand the miracle this was... Tanzania is a Muslim country, and the message of Jesus Christ was heard in the land that night! And, we welcomed two new brothers into the Kindgom of God. I don't know what is all means yet, but God did place a special love for Tanzania in my heart. I pray that He allows me to return there soon.

I would love to post pictures, but since my camera is broken, I am at the mercy (and grace) of others photographic eye. And since my computer also broke I must must make a plan to get pictures from my friends or wait for them to post on Facebook (hint hint - post your pics my friends)!

There have been many many challenges and many many more blessings this year, but as I look towards wrapping up my time here in Africa over the next few months... it is bitter sweet. I am looking forward to coming home and seeing all my family and friends. And, I am blessed to say that I also have true family here in Africa I will be leaving behind.

Please join me in prayer as I seek the Lords will for my life in 2008. I would love to return to Africa, but only when God gives me the green light!

Kelly

(Note: Due to my computer breaking I cannot update www.KellyDRamsey.com AIM has generously kept this blog site active but please note I am no longer on the World Race or affiliated with AIM).

When I departed from Agapetos just a few shorts weeks ago, I told them all that this was not good bye. I felt very strongly that the Lord would bring us together again soon!

Just this morning I was sharing my testimony with a group of young South African missionaries and I told them that I felt very strongly that God would bring Agapetos back together again before the end of the journey!

I HAD NO IDEA WHEN I SPOKE THOSE WORDS THIS MORNING THAT AN HOUR LATER I WOULD BE STANDING ON THE BEACH WITH MY FAMILY!!!

That the desire God had placed in my heart, even as the words were being spoken in the natural here this morning, God had already designed in the spiritual realm!

I checked my voice mail to hear a message from Eric that they were driving from Pretoria to Cape Town and that "HAPPENED" to be here in Jeffery's Bay to make a stop for lunch. Divinely Random! He then said we are near a big water slide thing... I AM NOT KIDDING, they were 5 minutes from me! So I popped down to the beach to give them all a bug hug. It was great. And confirmation that we are family, it does not matter how long it has been, there is no time lost in the spiritual realm.

To all of Agapetos friends and family - they are doing well. Stay tuned for lots of cool road trip stories. They are on the road again and hope to arrive in Cape Town tonight.

I am preparing to leave for Eqypt in a few days. We will be going on a pilgrimage through Egypt and Israel into Jerusalem. Please continue to keep me and this new season of the Hebrews 12:1 "race" the Lord has set before me in your prayers!

I wanted to let you all know that i have left the world race. many many things have led up to this seemingly sudden change of direction in my life. there are so many things i could write in this blog. but what i really want to say is this...

dear agapetos:
i never ever thought that this would happen. not me leaving the world race, you all know that is a question that has been asked since day one, and i am blessed that god finally answered. no, what i never thought would happen is that i would truly call you family. guys, you are my brothers.

And, girls, I truly call each one of you sisters. I will miss you more than I can explain with words. It is all of you that brings me to tears as I look at not finishing this race that we started together. I love each one of you. And that alone is the biggest miracle that the Holy Spirit has done in my life. I consider it a privilege to have been on this adventure with you. Know that while I will not be serving by your side the rest of the race, you will still have my prayers and intercession! I believe in each one of you, I still believe that this is a warrior team and that each one of you are divinely gifted and are called so powerfully by God for a time such as this. I am sad to be leaving. There are so many thoughts in my head and emotions in my heart. But know that I was blessed my each one of you. I have learned so much from each one of you. And it is because of the grace, love, humility, and encouragement of each one of you that I can say I know what is feels like to be called a sister in Christ, to be loved by family. Though I may not be serving Him by your side on this race any longer, What a joy that the real race, and the real prize, it is not over. What a reunion we will all have on the streets of gold together when we can worship Him forever!

To AIM and the rest of the World Race:
I consider it a privilege and honor to have been a part of the World Race. It is because I stepped out in faith on this thing with all of you that I can now call God my Daddy, my Father, my Friend! It is no secret that it has not been an easy road. I thank you to so many for your grace, love and acceptance of me. I know that the process God has begun in me, He will continue. And I will forever look back on the past 6 months one of the biggest blessings of my life. And I look forward to the next phase of my walk with the Lord, and continued relationships as He leads us.

To my friends, family, and supporters:
Shortly after I arrived in South Africa, Gena, my future sister in law, told me that my brother Ryan said... "Kelly, is going to go back and live in South Africa" Well bro, you were right. July is a little sooner than I thought, but God is control of my life now, not me, and He has called me here! I felt at home the minute I stepped foot in South Africa, and even more when I arrived at Alabanza. The Lord promises to complete the work he starts in us, and He started an amazing work in me here in South Africa. And now he has opened the doors for me to continue on that journey with Him, it just looks a bit different than how it started. So, I will not be continuing on to Thailand with the World Race. I am in Jefferies Bay, South Africa. God opened a door for me to stay here with a South African Missionary, Anna-Marie. That is all I know for now, the rest will be an adventure that I can't wait for the Lord to show me, in His timing. Please keep me in your prayers. I am learning to see the unknown as an exciting mystery! I am keeping my eyes on Jesus, and I know that He is my rock!

I know this is a shock to many of you, I understand. But I am finally learning that God's ways are not my ways. And all I can say right now, is that God has closed one door and opened another in my life. That I feel His love, provision, and protection all over me! I look forward to growing closer and closer to Him, and I pray that you will all continue on the second half of this journey with me. I ask for your continued support and prayers. I am being obedient to God's voice, learning more and more each day!

If you would like to continue to support me or to receive updates via my new blog, please be sure to include your email address with your comment below. You may also send email to kdr4jc@gmail.com

Signing off from the 2007 World Race and Team Agapetos, resting in His love, and already missing you all,
-Kelly

We just finished a week of children's camp at Rifilwe... a community living project in South Africa. Praise God, over 200 children came. Jane and I led a small group with over 25 children most days! WOW! Here is a summary of pictures and stories for you! Enjoy!
It was so cold one particular morning!

Which only made it harder to see shivering children, knowing many of them did not even have a blanket to sleep under last night, much less a bed! We were teaching about God's love! And this particular day we taught about how God always provides. As we were sitting there looking at shivering children. We gave them our scarfs to wear, we held them in our arms. And they never complained, not once! Later that day Allison and h

er team went to the nearby squatter camp where most of the children live.

NO KIDDING! There was a South African business woman there with a bag of kids hats and gloves!!! Divinely Random! She knew nothing of the camp, she said that she did not know how to distribute the items, she just felt God tell her to come! GOD PROVIDES!!! The next day we had hats and gloves for everyone! And, the sun came out!!!

Meet Katlego!

My little Man of God! One day we taught how God's love saves. We made salv

ation bracelets with the kids and MANY invited Jesus into their hearts that day. On the rec field Anele (my little bully) and Katlego were arguing. Long story short, God took over my tongue and I started speaking about forgiveness, having each others backs as brothers, what would Jesus do. I was about ot encourage Anele to apologize to Katlego, when Katlego looks at Anele and says, "I forgive you Anele"... NOTHING, Nothing I could say or do, no song we sang, no game we played, nothing could have ministered to Anele the way that Katleg

o did that day! Everything changed, the Holy Spirit dropped, Anele got a big smile on his face, right then, right there, he knew what Grace was! And he knew what love was, he had a new friend! And he met with Jesus that day through Katlego!

He was still a hurting boy acting out for love and attention, but now he was a bully with a passion! A bit later the older boys were fighting at the water hose while Katlego waited, as he always did. Anele stepped up and pushed them all out of the way and laid down the red carpet for Katlego to have a drink. During bible story time they sat under a tree to work on their project together.

Then during lunch Anele searched for Katlego to sit next to him. As we handed out plates hungry Anele snatched one for himself. AND Katlego quietly and calmly said "No Anele" and he pushed Anele's plate over to give it to the young boy sitting next to him. Anele started to react, then with a look from Katlego, and the conviction of the Holy Spirit, he bowed his head, grinned a little, a waited. Katlego then gave his own plate to Anele and himself waited to be the last served! HE IS ELEVEN YEARS OLD!!!

We are in South Africa for a week leading a children's camp with Steve and Teresa Kinsley! During pre-camp debrief Steve mentioned he was concerned that the word had not gotten out and that children did not know about the camp. We spent time last night in prayer, asking God to call out the children, to prepare our hearts, to bring His Holy Presence here with us!

We stepped in faith, and prepared for 100 children to be there anyway!

When are we going to pray in faith, to pray, and then believe that it has been done. When will we turn our prayers into prophesy?

This morning, 200 children showed up for camp. God answers prayers for sure!!! I will post more stories and pictures this week, the camp continues until Friday. Please join us in prayer for these children, for the country of South Africa, for the Kingdom of God!
A Vision...Strongholds Collapsing

I have a vision... A wall of Jericho movement. Strongholds of today will be broken under the hand of God due to undignified prayer and worship by a generation of young people with the heart of David willing to truly set themselves apart as a priestly nation!

I see strongholds of addiction, sex trade, depression, pornography, and more completely collapsing with hands lifted and voices crying out to God. I see the prodigal sons and daughters returning to their Father, claiming their inheritances that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, that you , being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width, and length, and depth, and height - to know the love of Christ which PASSES KNOWLEDGE; that you may be FILLED with the fullness of God! (Eph 3:17)

I see a generation so filled with God, there is no room for anything else. I see another generation, maybe our parents, aunts and uncles, teachers, mentors political leaders...on their knees. I see those who have gained the place of intercession and have been freed from the grip of Satans claws, I see them building a fortress around us in the heavens with their prayers.

I am calling out both generations. Those who have lived a bit longer, those who have been delivered from many of the traps of the enemy, raise up and cry out for the next generation. Build a fortress of prayer in the spiritual realm to protect them, to cover them!!!

Those who are young (and young at heart), who are burning with a fire for the Lord, fan the flames. Cry out the your God for the fatherless, for addictions, for depression, those sold into slavery. Those with the gift of worship, use your voices to heal the broken hearted, rattle the gates of hell with your songs, sing with such glory that the demons tremble and have to cover their ears and flee! March around the wall of the city, and then watch, watch the stronghold collapse, watch the walls fall!

Can you see it? Can you hear it? I just watched a short DVD called "Awaken the Watchman" (visit www.global24-7.org) Are you a watchman?

Read the Word!!! Go ahead, grab your own bible, or visit www.blueletterbible.com!!! You are NOT too busy. Actually, we are too busy NOT TOO! Our world is moving 24/7. The spiritual world is moving too. Fix your eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen. Let's fight the real fight.

Isaiah 62:6
Lamentations 2:19
Luke 18:7-8

Can you see it now?

Well, raise up men and women of God. Where are the watchmen? Will you join me? Will you go to your knees now in prayer. Will you do it every morning, every night? Will you go to your church and organize a 24/7 prayer program? Will you cry out for us, for the lost, for the Kingdom? Will you bring the Kingdom of heaven down to earth?

I don't have the answers, only questions, and a vision! What say you my dear friends???

Finding GOD in the silence!

Dear Family (cause we are ALL family :))

We are here in Swaziland, Africa with VERY slow and limited internet access! Sorry gang, no pictures for a while - they take forever to post. If have not watched my last video blog - "Healing at Alabanza" please take a moment to watch it.

Today, I feel freedom, I am finally becoming fully alive, fully alive in my identity as a child of God, a friend of Christ!

Random Thoughts Finding God in the silence

We had a day of silence this week. I loved it. 24hours, no talking, no iPod, no distractions, just me and God. (Yes, Dad, no kidding, I did not talk for 24 hours ☺)
While I was at Alabanza last month, I was blessed to be able to sit with the Lord, a lot. He started to speak to me in a new way, through very vivid spiritual visions and illumination of scripture. I am reading the Bible, and it is like I am reading it for the first time. During my inner-healing time with Dini - the Holy Spirit re-wrote my life for me, I saw it not with eyes that see into what is seen, but with my heart that was focused on the unseen, the eternal! My eyes were opened to an intimacy with Jesus that was new for me. And one that I now cherish. Worship is an entirely new experience for me. I have found the mystery of contemplative prayer.

So as I sat in silence yesterday, I waited and waited and waited. I found myself asking, "God, where are you?" I wanted, and expected, the big visions that I had enjoyed a few weeks before. "God what do you want to show me, I am hear, I am listing" But, nothing, only silence. "God, am I doing something wrong, have I lost your favor, show me what to repent of." Still, nothing, just silence. So I sat, for a few minutes, then an hour, then a few more hours. Still, silence. Slowly, a peace came over me, true rest. My body began to mold into the earth below me as I lay in the grass under the sun. I could hear children laughing next door. As I sat and rested, embracing the silence the distractions around me began to fade. Then I could hear the birds singing. The trees dancing. Slowly, I could hear the sound of the wind moving around me and then, that is when I heard it,
I heard the silence! The sound between the sounds. Stop for a moment, can you hear it listen. Silence is the sound between the sounds. It is ever present, ever speaking, and ever listening. A gentle whisper, "Kelly, I am in it all, the earth below you, the sun above you, the children near you, the wind around you and yes, even here, I am in the silence Kelly,
	I AM the silence!"

I was convicted in that moment to stop praying in the same way, "God, will you come, God will you meet me here, God will you show me something, anything, God where are you?" God was there, he is always there, he simply IS. I turned prayer into praise. "Father God, thank you" a simple prayer, "thank you."

I am learning that true Christianity, following Jesus, seeking God with all you heart is not about learning more. It is not about doing more. In fact, I have to unlearn a few things! It is about "seeing" Fixing our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen! Seeing God in the silence, realizing that God IS the silence.
He IS everything, our all-in-all! And that's all, and it is everything, when we "see" the rest follows. Author Richard Rohr says, "You don't need to push the river, because you are in it!" I don't have to wait for God to show up in some big vision, although He may choose to do that and I love it, but I can also "see' God in the silence, in everything, HE is my river, and I get to enjoy the ride!

Where to begin... my dear friends, I have so much I want to share with you. My entire team, the entire January 2007 World Race, is in Mozambique right now. I am sending this to you from South Africa. As soon as I stepped foot into Africa I felt something, I felt was supposed to be here. Then when we arrived at Alabanza, when I met Dini and the staff... I knew I was supposed to be here.

The last 5 months have been the most challenging of my life, and last week it all made sense. Last week God showed himself to me to unmistakably. I sat in the dinning hall here and wrote an email to AIM (one that never had to be sent) telling Seth that I could not do any more. I was broken, I was hurting. I was so lost and confused. I was unwilling to go on, I was not stepping one foot into Mozambique like this. I knew something was missing, I just did not know what. I no longer cared what anyone thought, I was no longer concerned with impressing people, pretending I had it all together. I was a mess, and I needed help. I did not want to "choose my attitude" or to "choose joy." "NO" I screamed in my head over and over. I don't want to choose it, I wanted the real thing. I don't want to survive on self effort any more. I knew all the strategies. I spent years of my life in personal development, personal power, learning tools and strategies for success. I worked with some of the biggest and best in the industry. I even taught the stuff myself. Here is the unmistakable truth that I know today! ONLY JESUS CAN HEAL! I knew there was pain to heal, I did not want to cover it up anymore. I wanted to know the love of my Father, and be filled so much with the Holy Spirit that I had no choice but to dance and sing and rejoice in the Lord, again I say, rejoice!

I knew in my heart, in my soul, that I needed healing. But I did not know how, where. I sat alone in a field crying out to the Lord, Father - who will come, who will you send, I feel like David in the dark pit, my soul is in anguish, where are you Lord? I was alone in the middle of a field in Africa, no one around me. I could feel the enemy there with me, darkness closing in on me, and I did not care. I knew they were lies, I did not care. I remember saying, "Lord... I don't have the strength to fight him anymore, I quit, I can't do it, I won't do it anymore, I have nothing left." And it was then that my Lord moved. He said to me so unmistakably, "Good, finally, Kelly, now will you let me, will you let me fight for you, will you let me heal you, will you let ME be your strength!"

Everything changed, there was light all around me, my spirit was at peace. I felt so loved, so safe, such a release of pain and emotion! The healing had begun. Not during any counseling session, not during a big personal development seminar, not reading some self help book... no, it began in a field in the middle of Africa, Just Jesus and I!

So I have been here at Alabanza for 6 days now. I have so much to share with you all! Within 24 hours the Lord re-wrote my entire childhood for me, I was able to release members of my family back to the Lord. Jesus showed me the source of so much of my pain, and he is healing me, more and more each day!

I hope to write more soon. For today, I beg you, meditate on these words... JESUS LOVES YOU THIS I KNOW! It it a simple children's song. We have made Christianity so complicated. But the simple truth is that JESUS LOVES YOU! And that is enough.
A Prodigal Child...

If you were here with me, you could look out the beautiful glass window of this cute Argentinean coffee shop with me to see a young man, maybe 20, leaning up against a tree smoking a cigarette. Breath by breath attempting to fill his lungs, his body, his soul with something that will please him, something that will bring him peace, searching for somewhere that he can find comfort.

As I sat watching him, my eyes literally filled with tears.. He slumped down against the tree, he looked so empty, so lost. I wondered if perhaps he was a street kid, but he was dressed too nicely. He appeared to be looking around for something, maybe someone.

"You spread out the skies, said let there be light and into a dark and formless world your light was born. You spread out your arms over empty hearts said let there be light into a dark and empty world, your son was born. You sent your only son, for you are good. What a wonderful Maker, what a wonderful Savior, how majestic your whispers, how humble your love. With the strength like no other, and the heart of a Father. How majestic your whispers, what a wonderful God." -Jeremy Camp

These were the words that hang in my ear on my ipod. "What a wonderful Maker, how majestic your whispers." Does this young man hear your whispers? Does he know your love Lord? Does he know he is a son of the King, that he is royalty, that he has a Father that wants to spread out his arms and just let him run to them, to rest in them? Does he know that you, and you alone will comfort him, does he know that you are the one he is looking for?

Father, what do you want me to do, what are you teaching me? As I write this, I pause to pray for this boy standing in the street in Argentina. Lord, who is he? Does he know you? Am I here to introduce you to him? I don't speak the language Father, will you give me the words?

No kidding, at that moment, he stood up, and walked right into the caf I was sitting in. My heart raced. I waited for the Lord, asking my Father what to do and how to pray. He sat at a table near by, still with that look in his eyes, he was searching for something, for someone.

You know the look don't you? When you see someone, they appear to be walking confidently in the direction of their dreams, all the while stumbling along the way. Searching for something, for someone. Maybe that someone is you. What are you searching for, what is your comfort, your prize, your light at the end of the tunnel, your prize?

As he put out his cigarette, and she walked in. Suddenly, life flowed into his body from her, he stood to embrace her, took her hand and together they walked out the door. As I watched him walk away, I asked the Lord, "Why?" Why was I so convicted for this boy, what are you teaching me Lord?

And God said, "Kelly, there are so many that are still lost, more prodigal sons and daughters, just like you, that do not know how to find their way back, they have forgotten about me. They are desperate for life, they will fill themselves with whatever they can find. Drugs, cigarettes, men and women, success, adventure, fortune. The enemy is prowling around this generation, stealing the prize from them, making it so easy to fill them with false comforts. Kelly, will you show my children the way home, will you seek out the lost, will you bring them back to me, will you bring them to my Kingdom, I have prepared a place for them."

Dear friends and family - I know that this is my calling. And, I know that I too lose sight of the prize. Please pray with me that the Lord continue to convict me for the lost burn these images in to my mind, to my heart. May I not be able to walk by another prodigal child without sharing the love of Christ. May I be filled so much with His love and grace for my life that it overflows from my very being.

Please pause for a moment with me, lift up my Argentinean brother in prayer. Please take a moment and ask the Lord to show you the prodigal sons and daughters in your life. Ask him how you can bring them home!!! Maybe you are a prodigal child, listen now to your Father, he is calling you home! Will you come, will you drink from the real living water. You Father is calling you, his arms are wide open, just fall into them, come home!

Asking The Lord, Argentina Style

Our story begins 3 days before leaving Peru, when my purse was stolen right off the back of my chair at a restaurant in Peru. Interesting situation given that we were in Cusco, and the American Embassy was back in Lima. And I needed an emergency passport.

We would have a 12 hour lay over in Lima before heading to Argentina. As soon as we got off the plane Eric and I headed to the Embassy. You may have read Michelle's blog, she was there with Eric to get a her passport just a few days before. In fact, the security guard at the Embassy greeted Eric like an old friend.

Enter God. THERE WAS NO LINE at the Embassy. And the woman remembered Eric and within an hour I had a new passport in hand. BUT no Visa stamp. They lady at the Embassy said to just get back to the airport and show the police report, she said we SHOULD be ok. We added a lot of prayer to the formula.

And in fact, here I am in Argentina. No worries.

We did not have any ministry set up for Argentina. Our plan was to ATL it (Ask The Lord). And that is what we did. Team Agapetos spend some time together re-connecting as a team, and some time in prayer to ask our Lord where he wanted to use us. Our mission here, set up work. To ask the Lord to bring us to contacts for a future World Race team. I love it, recon work for God.

On day one, a man at the hostel led us to a local restaurant. There we met our adopted grandmother who invited us to her church. At church we met a translator who told us about an orphanage (possible contact #1). As we were leaving, I noticed a guy talking to a homeless man right outside. I said "Dios le Bendiga" "God Bless You" to them both and said a prayer for them as we walked to the bus stop. At the bus stop our adopted grandmother introduced us to Louise. She said he works at the restaurant we had lunch at. Turned out he lived by where we were staying and so we rode the bus all the way home with him.

Within a few minutes Luis had our hearts. He is a recent prodigal son who has come running back to the father arms wide open. He is powerfully anointed, amazing discernment, and a heart of pure gold, and plain and simply loves the Lord with all he is. As we talked I realized that it was Luis that was speaking to the homeless man on the street moments earlier. A few hours later, after sharing a meal together and enjoying fellowship with our brother, we were heading home when I asked him where he lived. As he grinned a bit, he admitted that he did not live near our hostel, in fact he lived all the way back at the church we had left. He said, he knew he was supposed to meet us and that if we had known where he lived we would not have let him come all that way with us. AMEN brother. He traveled out of his way, on a bus, and a long walk, just to be able to spend time with us, to share his testimony, to share his life with us.

Luis has our heart. Please lift him up in your prayers. He belongs in missions and is looking for his tribe, we pray he has found it .

Luis was the reason we went to that church, the reason we met our grandmother, the reason we were at that restaurant, at that hostel. We asked God to show us where he wanted us to go, who he wanted us to meet. And I know that God's hand was in this from the start, from before any of us stepped foot in Argentina, before we were born, before the world was created. What a concept. Come on, can I get an Amen to that. God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good.

When Will I Love?

Hey Gang:

Well, here it is, my next rather embarrassing, but authentic video blog. I recorded this a few weeks ago in Mushu, Peru (sorry for the delay).

Today, I am at team debrief. In fact, although I am about to talk in this video about learning to love others... I see now that the real question is this.

When will I learn to be loved? When will I accept, no believe and embrace, the love of Jesus Christ. To believe and then walk as a princess, a daughter of the King, loved just as I am, just as He made me, dearly loved, worth dying for!

The World Racers are getting ready to wrap up our month here in Peru. So much has happened, I hope these pictures will give you a sense of the miracles the Lord has done this month!

Perhaps the most notable is this.

	A Church Plant!

When we first stepped foot onto Tumpa we all knew it was impossible. I knew that this month would push me, force me to depend on the Lord more. It was impossible to plant a brand new church in this town in a month. There was a strong spirit of deception, of false religion, worshipping idols. The town was torn apart by gossip and division. We learned from our brother, Abhram, that when he moved to these mountains years ago, the Catholics threw stones at him and called him a devil worshiper. We needed to Lord to go before us, we needed to drop to our knees in prayer.

Mallorie and a few others, myself included, felt burdened for intercession. To stay back from the door to door ministry and teachings and go to our Lord in prayer. We asked the Lord to break the strongholds over Tumpa, to bring his children out into the streets to meet us, to use us to bring his truth and his light to the lost. It was the Lord's will to see Tumpa set free, and we are so blessed that he used us, that he allowed us to be a part of it.

After one month on ministry in Tumpa, over 30 people have come to the Lord (and Louisa was brought home to her Father). Pedro and Josue, the local pastors, have secured a location for a home church and this body is now meeting twice a week right down the street from the Catholic Church. Oh, and did I mention, there was major resistance towards us when we arrived, we heard at one point there were flyers posted and announcements to the people not to talk to us or open their doors to us. But our God is victorious, we never felt much of this, people were so warm, loving and open to us and to the true Word of God! We know that our prayers were heard, that God went before us!

It may not look like your church back home, there are no plasma screens or bright lights. In fact, the roof leaks onto the dirt floor! And people come!!! Praise God!

Miracle number two God's children! Each Saturday we held a youth event at the plaza and this last Saturday there were over 25 children there to meet Jesus!

We were able to give many of them their very own bibles. Again, Praise God! A special thank you to all of our supporters who donated for Peru Bibles.

Oh, and God sent a little gift to us, his name was Lobo. This neighborhood dog totally adopted the entire World Race. He followed us to and from Tumpa, every day.

He even came to church with us, although we have to work on his concentration! Hey Lobo, no falling asleep in church!

Chad was blessed with the chance to preach at the Baptist church on Easter Sunday, and Chris was invited back the next Sunday to preach again! Both of them were filled with the Spirit of the Lord and we were encouraged by the Body of Christ in Peru!

Although, they did serve us "brain soup" for lunch, no kidding! ARGH!

Here is another Peruvian delicacy, ginny pig, again, no kidding! This little guy was likely our dinner a few hours later!

And check out this Peruvian treat.. avocado and banana sandwich. (Actually, this was just all we had in our backpacks during a hike to the lakes).

And I will never forget our first class travel accommodations, we regularly put 8-9 of us in these hatch backs two in the front passenger seat, 4 in the back and 2-3 in the TRUNK! Guess where I usually fit!!!

I guess it could be worse we could follow this kid on his pig!

And just how many girls can you fit on one twin bed in front of a 15 inch laptop to watch a movie, World Race style???

Oh, ad Mom, I tried my luck at hand washing laundry this trip.

Only after a little hiking accident involving a mud slide. No worries, nothing was hurt, except my pride!

Peru Bibles - Thank you to all my supporters!

Thanks to all of you and your support from back home, our Peru bible fund raiser was a huge success. We were able to purchase over 200 hundred bibles for the people of Peru!

I am especially excited that the Lord blessed us with so many youth at the Saturday outreaches. Now, these children and teens own their very own bibles. Most have never owned a bible, for that matter many have never really owned much that they can call their own!

The Word Racers were able to sit with these children and teach them how to read the Word of God, how to pray, how to seek God with all their hearts.

"Seek me and you will find me WHEN you seek me with all your heart!" (Jer 29:13)

IMPORTANT QUESTION, PLEASE READ!!!

Dear Friends:

I write you this from high up in the mountains of Peru! We are finishing up our ministry here and preparing to head onto the next leg of the World Race.

As internet connections get slower and slower, it takes longer and longer to post blogs, such as the ones that will be in your in-box shortly following this letter. I hope that the blogs have been encouraging, engaging, thought provoking, inspiring... but most of all that they bring you all into the presence of God.

I want to know how I can serve you more. What would you like to read and see more of in my blogs! My heart is that this blog is truly a ministry to each one of you!!! How can I do more for you?

Are you reading them? If not, why not? Are they too long, too short, are they boring?

If you are reading them, what do you like most? What would you like to see more of?

A special question to my supporters. I want each of you to feel as much a part of this ministry as I am. Ephesians teaches us that there is One body, One Spirit. That we are all one in Christ Jesus!

How amazing is that! And what a reunion we will have on the streets of gold in Heaven!

How amazing to know that as I am here seeking the Lord with all my heart, seeking to love the ones he loves. That they are being loved by all of you as well.
	ONE BODY!!!! ONE SPIRIT!!!

So due tell my friends. Use the comment space below to give me some feedback on my blogs!

By the way. I LOVE TO GET ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS! Each time you post a comment I receive it as a little love note in my in-box. I read every single one of them!

Take a minute with me to recall the images of Hurricane Katrina and the destruction of the Gulf Coast.

 What stories comes to mind?

 What pictures?

	.

Imagine a similar devastation to that all over again.

 The flooding.

The mass chaos of thousands of people and families displaced.

 The death.

 The disease.

The loss of property and livelihoods.

	Mozambique

is currently recovering from a flood that's destruction has ruined thousands of lives. Have you heard about it?

Have you seen it on the news channels?

Have you seen images or heard stories of the disaster?

 .

	Chances are probably not.

After all, floods in 3rd world countries don't really hold rank next to other "important" news in the States.

Picture flooding like that in New Orleans - except this time in a small village in Africa.

This village, not comprised of concrete or steel, is literally swept away.

Muddy water and debris are all that remain.

No food, no clean water, no housing.

The livelihoods of the people - the maize crops - all destroyed. No
medicine to ward off the potential problems of malaria or cholera. And
... no media coverage to tell the world of the disaster.

	.

Are thousands of lives in Africa the

same as thousands of lives in New Orleans or the Gulf Coast

	?

 If

yes, then why haven't you heard about the story and the flooding?

Why isn't it a larger issue?

 And if

 no, why not?

 .

	Within
this next month, the World Race team will be attempting to enter the
country of Mozambique to help assist there in the recovery and relief
efforts.

Throughout the next few weeks, we will relay specific needs as we discover them.

For now, however, I simply ask that you begin to pray for the country and people of Mozambique.

Please pray that the Lord would begin to prepare

our hearts for what we are about to enter into as well.

	Finally,
I would ask that you would attempt to seek out more information about
the events taking place in Mozambique and that you would begin to
inform

 others as well.

We must be accurately informed before anything

 can or

 will be done.

I appreciate your concern and thought over this.

 Blessings to each of you.

Who will be at your family reunion - PART TWO!!!

Let me tell you a story from Tumpa, Peru. It is a story of our God's sovereignty and love! One of the Lord's heart for one family in the mountains of Peru. A story of how the Lords places the desires of His heart into those that He calls to be His hands and feet!

"I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
(Ephesians 4:1 -Ephesians 4:6)

As a few of the girls and I were ending a long day in Tumpa and heading down the dirt road back to Mushu, i few men on the corner called out, "Are you doctors?"

I answered, "No, but I know the One who is the greatest physician, I am a missionary for the Lord Jesus Christ."

We were then led down the road to meet Louisa, an elderly lady with cancer. We laid hands on her and prayed for her and her family. We had no idea then the eternal impact we were being used by the Holy Spirit for.

"Fix our eyes on not what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen in temporary, but what is unseen in eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Soon after meeting Louisa, we met her husband Emilio... and the love story continues. Truly, the Lord placed his heart for this family directly into the World Race, and into me! Over the next few days many of our team members were individually let to meet Emilio and Louisa, to pray for them, to share our lives with them.

The following Saturday, less than a week after meeting Louisa, we headed into Tumpa to see this couple that had stolen our hearts. When we got the news that Louisa had passed away over the weekend.

I had an overwhelming sense of, did I do enough, now its too late, could I have done more...
Then I learned that Chad had spent an hour and a half just 3 days before with the Louisa, and that Louisa had heard the Gospel and accepted Jesus Christ! I had nothing at that moment but joy, I know that my sister Louisa will spend eternity with our heavenly Father. As I looked down the dirt road of Tumpa, I could imagine Louisa standing on the streets of Gold. Singing with our angelic hosts. Arms wide open, waiting to greet us again.

I looked up, and say Emilio walking towards us, down the dirt road of Tumpa.

He greeted us, as always, with a smile and a holy kiss. His first concern was for us, how were we doing? He was truly joyful to see us. To greet his brothers and sisters in Christ.

I beleive it was the joy of the Lord that gave him peace in this time. I see how much the Lord loves this man, this family...

From the first moment we stepped foot in T umpa, it was all divinely appointed. Her son asking us to pray for her, many of our team members being burdnened for Emilio, spending time wth him and truly being able to call him friend and brother.

On the day of the funeral service the family asked that we help them with the funeral procession and we were invited to say a few words at the grave site. We were able to collect a love offering to support Emilio and his family with funeral costs. Our pastor suggested that a funeral here would cost the family about 300 soles... the Lord put it heavy on my heart that He would provide this amount through us. I made one announcement to the team and without hesistaiton people gave, we collected $310 soles for the family. Another lesson for me, and example of the how the Lord provides for us, how He puts his desires in our hearts. It was his desire to provide for Emilio, we were simply the willing vessle!

We were brought here to love this family and to lead Louisa to her father, to lead her home.

I am in awe at how the Lord used us, at what a priveledge it is to be on the World Race this year, to be Gods hands and feet, his heart.

My prayer is to live a life worthy of Christ death, to love the ones he loves, Emilio, Louisa, the people of Tumpa, Peru....
We are One Body, One Spirit... what a reunion we will have on the streests of gold in heaven!!!
Who will be at your family reunion?

This is the picture of majestic glory that I wake up to every morning, high up in the mountains of Peru.

I wake up around 5:30 am most mornings to spend a few hours alone with God. This time with my Heavenly Daddy is priceless to me, no cup of java can even compare to the aroma of Heaven first thing in the morning.

Around 8:30 am the team gathers for breakfast together.

"Every day they continued meeting together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."
(Acts 2:46-47)

Then we head out for a 30 minute hike to Tumpa each day.

God has used us here, he has allowed us to be his mouth, his hands, and his feet to bring the Gospel to the mountain villages of Mushu and Tumpa. After just two weeks here we have had the privilege of welcoming over
30 new brothers and sisters in Christ into the Kingdom of Heaven. We have are learning more and more how to depend on God for everything.

I remember at the beginning of the race often being frustrated and saying to God,
	"where are you",
"why aren't you moving here", "why aren't you helping us build your Kingdom". Read that again, can you see how silly that was of me?
"God, why aren't YOU helping US build YOUR Kingdom?"

It is God's Kingdom, we are His children. And He
loves us, each one of us, every single man, woman, and child in Peru. Did I not realize that he wants to see His children enter the Kingdom of heaven so much more so than I could even imagine.

My question to the Lord today, is a bit different.
"Lord, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your majestic plan, thank you for using us, thank you for calling us to this life of adventure. Jesus, keep showing us where you are moving, and how we can come along side of you. Father, how can we help YOU build YOUR Kingdom? What is your will?"

"And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to HIS purpose." (Romans 8:28)

To all of my supporters, prayer partners and friends - thank you for helping me to live the life that God has called me to. My prayer is that I learn more and more each day of God's purpose, and that I may live a life worthy of Christ dying for as I seek to follow Jesus with all my heart.

"Seek my and you will find me, when you seek me with ALL of your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

And what a blessing to know that although we are far away from each other,
"there is ONE body and ONE spirit." (Ephesians 4:4) As I have been called to the nations, know that we are ONE and that as I hope to pour out the love of Christ to these people, they are being loved BY YOU through me as well!

Please continue to pray for the World Race, for continued support, for the people in Mushu and Tumpa, Peru. Your prayers are the most important thing that you could do for the World Racers, for these people of Peru, for the Kingdom of Heaven.
"Fix our eyes on not what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen in temporary, but what is unseen in eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18).

My friends, though you may never meet any of the people of Peru in this life, your love, support, and prayers ARE having an impact on eternity!

Just imagine, the reunion we will all have as we walk the streets of gold and embrace our brothers and sisters from around the world for the first time.

Many of these people have never left this village. Here they live in small houses with dirt floors, no heat or AC. Most times not even a door, as husband wife and children all live in one room together. Most of the children share a bed, or sleep on the floor. They wash their clothes in the nearby rivers. They cook over open fires. They use a hole in the ground outside for a bathroom. They don't have TV's or fancy toys, definitely no X-Box! In fact, here the children have to work 7 days a week in the fields harvesting the family's crops to take to market for enough money to buy food and clothing.

Yet, look at the smiles on their faces. They have never had much, thus they don't want for much. They are happy. But, oh can you imagine their faces when they see the city of Heaven!

The construction of its wall is of jasper; and the city is pure gold, like clear glass. The walls of the city are adorned with all kinds of precious stones: jasper, sapphire, emerald, topaz, amethyst. The gates made of pearls. And the street of the city is pure gold, like transparent glass." (Revelation 21)

Imagine seeing emeralds and sapphire for the first time, precious jewels that we spend money on just to wear around our necks will be used to build the walls of heaven!

I believe that as your prayers are recorded in Heaven, that you will know the faces of those whom you prayed for, those for whom your prayers made an impact in eternity! Imagine the joy to your soul, imagine the feasting table, imagine the laughter, imagine the hugs, imagine your family reunion along the streets of gold in Paradise!

Will you be there? Do you know Jesus Christ, have you asked him into your heart to be your Lord and Savior? I know the names of many of you reading this have been written in Heaven. Who will be there with you? Will you go to your knees in prayer, will you ask your Father in heaven send out invitations to your loved ones? Are you willing to BE the invitation your self? Will you pray for the millions among the nations who have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Who will be at your reunion in Paradise?

Am I willing???

Isaiah 58 - True Fasting

The bible says... Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. (1)

You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high. (4)

The Fast that the Lord has chosen loosens the chains of injustice. Sets the oppressed free. It is to share your food with the hungry, and provide shelter to the poor. The Lord tells us to clothe the naked.

THEN your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear. Then you will call and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say, "Here I am". (8)

IF you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, THEN your light will rise in the darkness.(10)

Once again, the Lord tells me... Kelly, you have no idea what I am asking of you or what it will cost you. But you asked me to show it to you, "Here I am". Will you spend yourself on behalf of my people? The poor, the wandering, the hungry, the naked?

Fasting is more than skipping a meal and setting aside time spend in prayer with God. It is about breaking our attachment to things of this world. It is while you still want a thing that you can't get your mind off it. When you rise above it, He may give it back to you, but then you are out of it's grip. (Reese Howell's Intercessor)

Just 5 minutes after writing this, God gave me the chance to realize it in my own life. I went to breakfast to find out, there was only bread. After a months of rice and beans three times a day in Costa Rica, eggs for breakfast were such a blessing here in Peru. I quickly realized that we had become accustomed to eggs in the morning again, thus I was no longer appreciative of them, but rather expectant and entitled!

So now the Lord has presented me with an interesting, and convicting, inquiry. What has a hold on me? What am I still not willing to fully surrender to the Lord? What do I, falsely, claim to have a right to?

One of the biggest challenges of the World Race for me has been the food. Lots of fried foods, white rice and potatoes. As many of you know I have spent many years studying and teaching about health and nutrition.

I am attached to my good health. I, the self-nature in me, believe that I deserve to be healthy. Hmmm, IF the Lord were to call me to illness, would I surrender my body? Do I have a right to health?

The Lord promises to provide what we need. But my version of what I need seems to be drastically different from God's. I am not sure the Lord agrees that I need fruits and veges and protein.. and wheat grass and spirulina and almond butter. He said he will provide for our needs greater than the lilies of the field. I don't recall him ever saying we will always be full, never be hungry.

I am still in this inquiry here. But I wonder. What lesson is the Lord teaching me here on the World Race. Perhaps it is compassion and mercy for a small part of the way that the people we are here to serve live. Perhaps it is stripping me of all that I hold dear, all that I try to control on my own, all that is preventing me from depending on the Lord. If I truly trust in the Lord, and that He will provide for my every need. Then am I willing to believe that the food we are provided with here is the will of God? Am I willing to believe that just as God multiplies food for those children in Costa Rica that he can use white rice and potatoes to nourish my body? Am I willing to surrender my body, my health, to place it in the hands of my heavenly father? Am I willing to surrender it all to wherever and whatever my Heavenly Father calls me too? Am I willing?

To be continued...
Part Two - Am I willing to spend myself on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed?

ARE YOU WILLING??? We are still raising support to purchase bibles for the people of Peru. Just $5 dollars buys a family a bible. Please click here to make a donation to give a bible to a family in the mountains of Peru
and type "Kelly Ramsey - Peru Bibles" in the "Person or Team" space. Your
donation is so appreciated. We have already given out the first round
of bibles, and people are so thankful. Many new Christians here have
never owned their own bible!
On the 2007 World Race there are three times as many women. I could write a dozen blogs on my theories on this fact. But for today... just check out this video. Guys, this is an adventure! We seek to follow Jesus Christ, plain and simple. AND, Jesus Christ was an extreme radical go for it no holds barred kind of guy! I mean he created these mountains. It does not get any better than this.

Do the Kingdom a favor, forward this video to every single Wild at Heart (an amazing book by John Eldridge) man that you know! Let's raise up Men of God!!!! If you want the adventure of a lifetime, and the endless rewards of eternity... COME ON THE WORLD RACE WITH US!!!
